Clair de lune

By

For months I kept changing and reworking the colors in this piece but could never feel satisfied.

After I met someone, I was finally able to finish it in a way that felt meaningful. He was red-green colorblind, and yellow was the one color he could see most clearly.

While I worked, I listened to Debussy’s Clair de Lune over and over. If I ever had to describe moonlight to someone who cannot see, I think I would play them that piece of music.

This painting carries that feeling, and my affection, hoping that for people like him the light of the moon can still be felt as it truly is.
