The shade of shadow

By

I watched a movie at a small theater on 5th Avenue in Kitsilano. The film was Perfect Days. It was the first and the last movie I ever watched with someone who had been a profound source of inspiration in my life.

That night I walked home with Pale Blue Eyes by The Velvet Underground playing in my ears.

When a moment with someone leaves a mark so deep that it lingers in your life, the length of time you shared, whether seconds, minutes, or just a handful of days, doesn’t matter.

I completed this piece in Korea.

Listening to that song again I find myself thinking that just like shadows disappear without light, the emotions I feel now may seem fleeting and insignificant. And yet, like shadows, they will always exist somewhere.
